This has been a busy week for Amtrak. On Monday, December 8, the company reinstated the seventh daily trip on the Gold Runner route , connecting Modesto and Sacramento. In addition, Amtrak's newest route, the Mardi Gras service, recently collided with a pickup truck .

A segment of the Cascades routes won’t be operational this Friday, while the California Zephyr will experience significant schedule changes. In addition, the Saluki service is currently impacted by track work, and some Gold Runner and Santa Monica bus stops have been temporarily relocated.
