Google unveiled GenTabs, an experimental AI feature that transforms open browser tabs into interactive web applications without requiring users to write code. The tool, powered by the company's recently released Gemini 3 AI model, is available through a new application called Disco, which Google describes as a reimagining of web browsing for the modern era.
GenTabs analyses the content of users' open tabs and chat history to generate custom apps suited to specific tasks. According to Google, if someone is researching a trip to Japan, GenTabs can create an interactive application featuring a zoomable map, calendar, and information panels about cherry blossom viewing locations. The tool has also been demonstrated, creating 3D models of the solar system for educational purposes and meal plan
