CERRO GORDO, Ill. (WAND) - Cerro Gordo schools went on soft lockdown briefly after a man was spotted walking with a gun on Main Street.

Cerro Gordo Junior/Senior High School administration confirmed to WAND News that all schools went under a soft lockdown at 9:15 a.m. after being told that an older man was walking on Main Street carrying a gun.

Administration told us the man was arrested by the Piatt County Sheriff's Office.

The lockdown was lifted shortly before 9:30 a.m.

WAND News called the Piatt County Sheriff's Office for information about the man. They said deputies were still on the scene, and no information could be released at this time.
