CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 31-year-old Charlotte woman who had been reported missing was found dead in her vehicle Thursday, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

Frezja Matisse Baker was last seen alive on Dec. 4 around 10 p.m. at 1323 Lasalle Street. She was driving her gray-blue 2004 Honda Accord at the time, police said.

On Dec. 11, officers discovered Baker's vehicle in the 2300 block of Sanders Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Inside, they found an unresponsive woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was later identified as Baker.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case, and evidence was collected from the scene. Authorities described the investigation as active and ongoing, with more information to be released as it becomes available.
