Norwalk native and UConn star running back Cam Edwards has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.
The redshirt junior ran for 1,132 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, leading the team in both categories. He also caught 19 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown. The Norwalk High School grad was UConn’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 2019 (Kevin Mensah), and will likely be highly-sought-after in the portal.
Edwards showed his explosiveness in several games this season, rushing for more than 100 yards five times. He ran for a season-high 194 yards and two touchdowns against Ball State on Sept. 20, and put up 165 rushing yards and two more scores against Air Force on Nov. 15.
