THRISSUR: It is against the law for the police to stop a vehicle for inspection and then call out, "Eda, come here...". Police officers should go to the vehicle and check the documents instead. The DGP clarified this in a Right to Information application. Action will be taken if a complaint is received against those who are checking vehicles while sitting in a police jeep.
