Ontario representative for the Markham-Unionville riding in the Greater Toronto Area has announced that he will be departing the Conservative caucus and joining the Liberals, the second time that a floor crossing has happened in the past couple months.

“After listening carefully to the people of Markham–Unionville in recent weeks and reflecting with my family on the direction of our country, I have informed the Speaker and the Leader of the Opposition that I will be joining Prime Minister Mark Carney in the government caucus,” said MP Michael Ma in a statement yesterday.

This move comes just a few weeks after a Nova Scotian MP, Chris d’Entremont, also departed the Conservatives to take a seat with the Liberals.
