WESTFIELD - The Westfield Technical Academy girls basketball team opened its season to the delight of Tigers fans … with a win.
Lia O’Brien scored in all but one quarter, finishing with seven points to lead all scorers as Westfield Technical Academy turned back Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School, 26-13, at home Thursday evening. O’Brien got things started with a first quarter 3-pointer. Tigers’ Jadalys Lemay finished the game with six points.
“It was very exciting,” Westfield Technical Academy girls basketball coach Alvin Brown, Jr. said. “We put in a lot of hard work the last couple of weeks to get prepared - a lot of homework, a lot of studying. It was very gratifying to see all their hard work pay off.”
