The Ministry of External Affairs on Friday reiterated India’s support for the Gaza Peace Plan and said that regional and international matters will form part of the discussions during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Jordan and Oman.
Briefing the media on the visit, Secretary (CPV & OIA) Arun Kumar Chatterjee said that India’s ties with both countries carry their own strategic weight and that the leaders are expected to exchange views on issues of mutual interest. He added that specific topics will be clearer after the meetings conclude.
Secretary (South) Meena Malhotra said India’s position on Gaza has been consistent, recalling the country’s participation in the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit on Gaza. She said India welcomed the signing of the first phase of the Gaza Peace Plan
