TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Rodney Coley is being held at the Lucas County Jail after police said he led them on a chase in a U-Haul truck that ended with the discovery of three dogs in the vehicle.
The chase began when Toledo police responded to a kidnapping report on Northwood near Central and Monroe. Officers said Coley was driving the U-Haul when they attempted to stop him.
“Kidnapping is a very serious crime; we are not going just going to let somebody drive away from something like that,” said Mark King, manager of the OPOTA Program at Owens Community College and a law enforcement expert with 30 years of policing experience.
The pursuit ended at Larchmont Estates, where Coley was arrested while trying to run away on foot. First responders discovered three dogs in the back of the U-Hau
