Angela Constance and the child abuse expert she is accused of misrepresenting in Parliament will be quizzed by MSPs next week.

The Justice Secretary will be hauled before Holyrood ’s Education , Children and Young People Committee, chaired by Scottish Tory MSP Douglas Ross , on Wednesday.

Professor Alexis Jay has also agreed to give evidence.

The move comes as the political fallout over Ms Constance’s comments during a Holyrood debate on grooming gangs intensifies.

Both Labour and the Tories have tabled motions of no confidence in the minister, with the vote expected on Tuesday afternoon.
