GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - After dozens of local senior citizens gathered to protest the firing of Gadsden Co.’s Elderly Affairs Director earlier this week, she is set to return to her position.

The County Commission held a special meeting to discuss the issue on Thursday. After public comments and exchanges between commissioners, it was announced that Elderly Affairs Director LaToya Fryson can move back into her position.

Interim County Administrator Reginald James announced the reinstatement, saying he’s listened intently and the decision is based on information he’s received. Regarding the investigation that prompted the firing of Fryson, James said he found it “hard” to hold the director at fault.
