Edgar’s Bakery is moving ahead with a major expansion in Pelham, investing $13.1 million in a new production and distribution center that will support the company’s growing reach across Alabama and beyond.

According to The Business Journals, the project will bring a 30,000-square-foot facility to the corner of U.S. 31 and Alabama 119, and is expected to create about 40 jobs upon completion in December 2027.

The new center will handle baking operations for Edgar’s storefronts throughout Alabama and production for items distributed nationwide. The project represents an updated version of a smaller proposal previously presented to Pelham officials.
