Sen. John Fetterman is a staunch Israel supporter who has now asked that country’s president to pardon embattled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
TalkingPointsMemo.com obtained a letter that Fetterman sent to Israel President Isaac Herzog asking him to issue a pardon for Netanyahu amid an ongoing corruption scandal.
“In a world this dangerous, I question whether any democracy can afford to have its head of government spending valuable hours, day after day, in a courtroom rather than the situation room,” Fetterman wrote in the Dec. 2, TPM reported.
“I fully support it and I stand on the letter,” Fetterman told TPM.
