A.J. Ewart is inching closer to earning a PGA Tour card.
Ewart boosted his chances with the elusive ace, making a hole-in-one on the fifth hole at TPC Sawgrass on Friday, placing him with a shot of the lead at 7-under during the final stage of the PGA Tour Q-School.
The Tour’s qualifying school provides golfers the opportunity to compete for PGA Tour cards and Korn Ferry Tour cards. Five PGA cards are up for grabs for the top-five finishers, while the next 40 receive Korn Ferry cards.
Ewart, who hails from Coquitlam, B.C., turned pro in 2023. This season, he competed in one PGA event — the RBC Canadian Open. Ewart finished the first two rounds at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley even par (69, 71), but missed the cut.
