President Donald Trump said on Thursday he pardoned Tina Peters, the former Colorado elections administrator convicted in a data breach scheme related to false claims about the 2020 election.
Trump lashed out at Democrats in his Truth Social post announcing his pardon of Peters, who is currently serving a 9-year prison sentence. This is just the latest controversial pardon Trump has issued in recent months.
“Instead of protecting Americans and their Tax Dollars, Democrats chose instead to prosecute anyone they can find that wanted Safe and Secure Elections. Democrats have been relentless in their targeting of TINA PETERS, a Patriot who simply wanted to make sure that our Elections were Fair and Honest,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
