On Friday at 11:50 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a lake effect snow warning valid from Saturday 10 a.m. until Monday 7 a.m. for Warren and McKean counties.

The weather service states, "Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches with locally higher amounts."

"Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could extend into the Monday morning commute," comments the weather service. "Consider delaying travel. If travel is necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded."
