Everyone has an opinion on how the New York Yankees should reconfigure the roster to finally deliver their first World Series title since 2009.
Roster construction is always a hot topic in Yankees land, and outside of Aaron Judge and the top-tier starting pitchers, just about everyone on the roster gets called into question from time to time. But this offseason, much of the debate has centered around two of the club's former top prospects: shortstop Anthony Volpe and catcher Austin Wells.
Volpe just finished his third season, while Wells finished his second full campaign after a brief 2023 debut. Both took sizable steps back from their production a year ago, and both will be under a microscope if they retain their respective roles heading into the regular season in March.
