A 66-year-old man found unconscious inside a burning apartment building in Pierrefonds late Friday morning was taken to hospital.
A Montreal police spokesperson said police were asked at 11:40 a.m. to assist the Montreal fire department at the scene of the blaze, a four-storey residential building on Pierrefonds Blvd., near Sources Blvd.
The spokesperson said while the fire appeared to be concentrated in the apartment where the 66-year-old man was found, the entire building was evacuated.
“He was in critical condition and was taken to a hospital,” she said. “The cause of the fire has yet to be determined for the moment. The scene will be protected while investigators with the arson squad can do a full analysis of the scene.”
