BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The community is mourning the loss of a local leader.

According to the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, Murphy Construction Group Chief Executive Officer Michael Murphy died Thursday.

Murphy purchased Scott & Murphy, Inc. in 1988 and became a partner and president of the building division of Scott, Murphy & Daniel, LLC in 1998, according to the company’s website.

The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce says Murphy was a chamber member and supporter for more than 40 years. He also served the Bowling Green Economic Development Authority for over 20 years.

Murphy was the Chair of the Med Center Health Foundation’s Hospitality House Task Force
