MADISON (WKOW) — Leadership from Abundant Life Christian School shared a message with the community on Friday ahead of the one-year mark of the Dec. 16, 2024, school shooting that claimed the lives of two people and the shooter. Six others were injured.

The school released the following statement in regards to the tragedy:

"Abundant Life Christian School is deeply grateful to Madison, Dane County, and the State of Wisconsin for the support and care provided during this past year. Words cannot truly express how much it has meant to our Challenger family. ALCS has experienced hard times in our school history, but nothing like what occurred on December 16, 2024.
