A 66-year-old man is in critical condition after being found unconscious in his apartment during a fire Friday morning in Montreal.
Around 11:40 a.m., Montreal police (SPVM) were called to assist the Montreal fire department at a 16-unit residential building on Pierrefonds Blvd near Blvd des Sources in the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough.
The building was completely evacuated, and the fire, mainly concentrated in one apartment, was brought under control by firefighters.
The man was found unresponsive and transported to hospital in critical condition. Police said an update on his condition is pending.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Police arson investigators from the arson unit have secured the scene and will conduct a detailed analysis.
