COLUMBUS, Ohio — More than 2,800 AEP Ohio customers near The Ohio State University lost power after a crash involving a dump truck Friday afternoon.
The crash happened near the intersection of Carmack Road and West Lane Avenue in the West Campus area. The power outage began around 3:15 p.m., according to AEP.
AEP said the truck appeared to have run into its equipment, causing the outage for 2,889 customers. Field crews are still assessing the damage.
According to the AEP website, the estimated restoration time is around 6:30 p.m.
AEP said updates on the outage will be posted on its social media pages.
