ORLANDO, Fla. — New details have emerged about the death of a man who was fatally injured on a roller coaster at Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park, following the release of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s final investigative report.
The case, involving 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala , has been officially ruled an accidental death, with investigators concluding that employees operating the “Stardust Racers” coaster followed all safety protocols and did not act carelessly or negligently. But, the findings have legal implications about what happens next.
Investigators say Zavala suffered catastrophic injuries during the Sept. 17 ride, including severe facial trauma and a femur so damaged that a doctor on the platform later described it as “broken in half.” The report note
