FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Saturday was the start of a new era for one of Florida’s oldest marine life attractions.
Marineland Dolphin Adventure officially transitioned to new ownership and management, just months after its former parent company went through bankruptcy and developers were eyeing the land.
Saturday, Dec. 6, was a cloudy start in Flagler County, but the spirits were bright at Marineland Dolphin Adventure.
It was filled with hugs, congratulations and smiles.
With little public fanfare, the new managers -- Felicia Cook and Jack and Donna Kassawitz -- triumphantly walked into the park they worked hard to save.
Cook had been Marineland’s general manager until January when she chose to leave amidst the financial problems at the park.
