SUNBURY — A 134-year-old bell from the long-lost Hotel Shikellimy greets golfers at Sunny Hills Golf Course, quietly linking three generations of the Sprenkle family to one of the Valley’s most memorable stories.
The bell was salvaged from the hotel ruins by Norman F. Sprenkle in the 1950s. The physical totem of local history stands hidden in plain sight at the first tee of the Sprenkle family's golf course off Route 61 outside Sunbury in Upper Augusta Township.
