In a tradition dating back 175 years, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry held its inauguration ceremony, officially marking the passing of the gavel to a new member of council.
François Landry will sit in the warden’s chair for the first time , also marking the first time in recent memory that a councillor from North Stormont holds the position. Notably, Landry is also a proud Franco-Ontarian and has highlighted his pride in being able to communicate with the 18 per cent of SDG residents whose mother tongue is French.
