After taking a break in 2024, the Hennepin County Library's free streaming service, MNspin, released its 2025 slate this week.

MNspin releases albums from local artists, which are free to stream for anyone and downloadable for patrons with a library card.

This year's batch features more than 75 albums, putting the streaming service at more than 600 total albums since it launched in 2017.

Each spring, artists submit albums, and a panel of curators with connections to the Minnesota music world selects releases to be added to the service. Artists get a stipend and make their music available for free through the library system.

"It was a really unique way to engage with local music," Mark Engelmann, one of the 2025 curators, says in a statement.
