CAMDEN, Maine (WABI) - This holiday season, you can give a shelter animal the greatest gift: their forever home!

At PAWS Animal Shelter in Camden , it’s easier than ever, thanks to their partnership with BISSELL Pet Foundation for the Empty the Shelters campaign.

“We do it every once in a while, and they just give adopters more affordable adoption fees, and it just really helps to get these animals out of the shelter,” explains PAWS care attendant Cheyeanne Stokes. “We always try to partner with Bissell because that’s where we get most of our transfers from, and we like to save a lot of the dogs on the euthanasia list.”

Until Dec. 15, you can adopt a dog six months or older for $70 and cats six months and older for $30.

Stokes says about 10 adopters have taken advantage of the deal
