A 19-year-old Idaho Falls man faces felony charges of grand theft by possession of stolen property and general fraud.
Jesus Valentin Rivas Ruiz allegedly convinced 12 coworkers that he was a day trader and they gave him varying amounts of money ranging from $500 to $10,000, totaling $45,650 in all, for him to turn into a profit, according to court records. Two men gave him $10,000 apiece, while three others gave him $5,000 apiece. The average payment for all 12 men was $3,804.
