FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead Salvation Army is seeing fewer volunteer bell ringers this year.

The Salvation Army has 22 sites with red buckets in the metro, including at West Acres Mall in Fargo.

Maj. Abe Tamayo says more snowfall and cold weather this year has caused cancellations.

Tamayo is hoping they can make up for some lost ringing this season.

"If we have an active bell ringer, ringing a bell, greeting Merry Christmas to folks and those types of things, people tend to give a little more generously, and it's a big asset to our boost for the Christmas season that supports our operations out the entire year," Tamayo said.

You can sign up to ring at https://www.registertoring.com until Dec. 24.
