A London man faces charges after an unauthorized person was found on a Via Rail train, Chatham-Kent police say.

About 6 a.m. Wednesday, Chatham-Kent police went to the Via station on Queen Street in Chatham after the RCMP requested assistance regarding an unauthorized person on board.

Investigation revealed a man was travelling from Windsor toward Chatham, police said. A suspect was found on the rear engine when the train arrived.

A London man, 46, is charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence, police said. He was released with a court date in the new year.
