ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Despite ongoing debates about vaccine efficacy, a new poll shows that Georgia parents overwhelmingly trust childhood vaccines.
The survey, conducted by the Emory Center for Child Health Policy, included more than 1,000 Georgia parents and found strong, steady support for routine childhood vaccinations. 87% of parents said they believe routine vaccines are safe, and 93% said they trust their child’s doctor for guidance, even as federal recommendations may shift.
Experts warn that many parents are trying to navigate changing guidance.
The poll comes just days after the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted 8–3 to end the universal recommendation that all newborns receive the hepatitis B vaccine at birth. Under the new guidance,
