SPRINGFIELD — The new owner of the historic Paramount Theater/ Massasoit House Hotel on Main Street plans to replace the roof in March.
Connecticut real estate investor Mohan C. Sachdev said this week he’s already contracted for the work, but weather has delayed it into March.
“More renovations after the roof is done,” Sachdev, a veterinarian, wrote in an emailed response to questions.
Sachdev bought the Paramount at auction in September 2024 from the New England Farm Workers Council. Led at the time by Heriberto Flores, the council was behind the earlier rehab as part of a hotel and entertainment project.
The theater opened in 1929.
City records indicate Sachdev secured a building permit for the theater and hotel at 1676-1708 Main St. in November with a Springfield roofer listed
