DALLAS, Pa. — 700 career wins and counting for Dallas girl’s head basketball coach, Vince Bucciarelli.
Dallas defeated Scranton 54-53 after a 4th quarter comeback to help Bucciarelli earn the milestone.
“I was very fortunate with the girls I had and all of my assistant coaches. I can't thank them enough because without them, there was no way I'd get to 700,” said Bucciarelli.
The number currently sits at 702, after Dallas picked up wins over Wyoming Area and Mountain View.
Although there’s debate among the locals on how to pronounce “Bucciarelli”, no one can mistake his impact on girls’ basketball in Northeast PA.
Bucciarelli started his career in 1982. He’s known for his Abington Heights Comets teams’ success, where he coached for 32 seasons and brought home 14 District Championships
