A man appeared in court after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the East Lancs Road last year. Kevin Bannon was riding his motorbike on the East Lancashire Road on the morning of May 9, 2024, when he was hit by a bin lorry. He died at the scene , aged just 45.

The driver of the bin lorry Cevdet Saygi, 42, of Calderwood Park, Liverpool, stopped at the scene. He appeared in court this morning when he faced charges of causing death by dangerous driving.

The defendant was remanded on unconditional bail. He will next appear in court for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH) on January 9 at Liverpool Crown Court.
