According to a news release, U.S. Senator Jon Husted has filed petitions to appear as a candidate for the Ohio Senate race on the 2026 ballot.
Husted is currently filling the remainder of former U.S. Senator and current Vice President J.D. Vance's term.
"From the Ohio Statehouse to the U.S. Capitol, I've always fought for Ohio's hard-working families," said Husted in the release.
Husted continued," I'm running because too many people in Washington have forgotten what it's like to live, work and raise a family here. My focus is on lowering costs, creating good-paying jobs, securing the border and making America affordable again."
Husted was appointed to Vance's seat in the Senate by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine in January of 2025, ahead of the inauguration of President Donald Trump and Vic
