Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to renew a ceasefire after days of deadly border clashes, following talks, announced US President Donald Trump on Saturday.

In a post on TruthSocial, Trump said he had spoken to Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and secured their agreement to halt all shooting with immediate effect.

Trump said both leaders had agreed to return to the original peace accord reached earlier with US and Malaysian support. He described the latest ceasefire as an important step towards preventing a wider conflict between the two neighbouring countries.
