RYE, N.H. —

The Rye Firefighters Toy Bank is celebrating 20 years of collecting gifts for children in the Seacoast area.

This year, the Rye Fire Department is collecting gifts in memory of Lt. Chuck Gallant, who died of a heart attack in 2023.

The Rye Toy Bank is just one of several toy banks run by Seacoast fire departments to collect toys for Granite State children.

"It's really an honor for me to be carrying on Chuck's legacy," said Alexandria Gorski, of the Rye Fire Department. "He was the former president of the Rye Firefighters Toy Bank, and I just have so many good memories of working with him on shift. And starting Nov. 1, he was in the toy room.
