The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Friday suspended four cricketers Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi and Abhishek Thakuri following allegations of their involvement in corrupt practices during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. The decision comes after preliminary findings suggested serious misconduct that could undermine the integrity of the sport.

FIR Lodged, Criminal Proceedings Initiated

In addition to the suspensions, the ACA has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the state police’s crime branch against the four players. All of them have represented Assam at different levels in domestic cricket. The players are accused of influencing, and attempting to instigate, members of the Assam squad who participated in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches.
