MADISON (WKOW) -- The First Congregational United Church of Christ held an hour-long interfaith vigil on Friday night to honor the two victims of last month's National Guardsmen shooting in Washington, D.C.
Several Afghan community members, along with a pastor, imam, and a rabbi, took turns speaking. The Afghans emphasized that one person does not define their community, and that they do not condone what happened.
"That's not acceptable here and nowhere else. So because of that, I try to work with the local organization here to organize an event with other faith people to make sure that we are all peaceful people," said Abdullah Ameen, an Afghan community leader.
