BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The Bryan Fire Department was directed to remove a loaner fire truck from service Thursday morning, leaving one station temporarily without an engine as emergency calls continued.

Dispatch audio from Thursday morning shows firefighters announcing that a fire engine on loan from TEEX was being taken out of service for mechanical issues. Less than 10 minutes later, a possible building fire call came in for a bank.

The call turned out to be a false alarm, but union members said it occurred while Station 3 on Briarcrest was down an engine. Other emergency calls also came in during this period, several in Station 3’s district.
