INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis DPW crews are gearing up for another round of weekend snow and potentially subzero temperatures that could make road treatment less effective, while residents in at least one neighborhood that felt overlooked last winter say they’re watching closely.

City snow crews worked overnight on what DPW calls “priority one” roadways or major thoroughfares and routes near hospitals and fire stations and continued into “priority two” streets during Friday’s daytime shift, Chief Communications Officer Kyle Bloyd said.

“That shift ran from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. They got almost all of those priority ones taken care of overnight,” Bloyd said.

Bloyd said crews also cleared portions of the city’s bike and trail network, including several commuter trails and protected bike lanes.
