Sapira Cheuk is an artist whose ink paintings feature a mix of two inks in a manner reflective of the way
her cultural identities have intertwined and informed her lived experience. Previously having work featured in various prestigious galleries and art exhibits — including the Institution of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, the Royal Society of Art London and the Yellowstone Art Museum — her art is currently featured at the Art Depot Gallery as one of Fontana’s Featured Artists.
“A lot of the work is about the bigger concept of, ‘why make art in the first place,’” Cheuk said. “I hope people really resonate with the collection and that it allows them to access parts of themselves that they haven’t accessed before.”
Through Friday, Dec. 19, Cheuk’s art will be featured at the Art Depot Gal
