Fontana has strong roots in caring for those in need. We often say, “Happy Thanksgiving,” but many don’t stop to consider what those words truly mean for the people receiving them. For some, the phrase should bring comfort and joy — yet in recent years, challenges from COVID, government shutdowns, job losses, delayed benefits and the loss of hope have made that difficult.
This year in Fontana, I knew we needed to do more than depend on traditional resources from government or charitable agencies. During a Mayor Monday, I asked our community to lean on each other — and Fontana responded with heart, unity and purpose.
