Two people have died following an explosion at a house in south Wales. Emergency services were called to the scene of a fire at Heol Fawr in Nelson, near Treharris, Caerphilly, on Friday evening.
Gwent Police said officers and firefighters from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the address following reports of an explosion at around 6.10pm in the garden of the two-storey property.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, police later confirmed.
Specialist fire crews remain at the scene on Saturday morning to carry out a structural assessment of the property.
