A massive fire broke out early Saturday on the ground floor of a 12-storey mixed-use building in a busy market area of Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka, officials said. While no casualties were reported, firefighters rescued at least 42 people trapped inside the structure, state-run BSS news agency reported.

The blaze erupted at Jabal E Nur Tower, a building that houses a market on the lower floors and residential apartments above. According to tbsnews.net, the Fire Service and Civil Defence received an emergency call at 5:37 am local time, with the first firefighting units reaching the site within minutes, around 5:45 am.
