Agartala, 13 th December 2025: In a significant development in the investigation into the brutal murder of an eight-year-old child at Nadiapur village under Churaibari police station, the family of Nonigopal Singh (43) has asserted his innocence, citing bank CCTV footage that established his whereabouts at the time of the crime.

Police had earlier arrested Madan Gopal Sinha (57) and subsequently Tapas Sinha (38) on the basis of statements made by Bijoya Sinha (28), who sustained serious injuries during the incident. As part of the ongoing probe, Nonigopal Singh, a resident of Ward No. 6 under Govindpur Panchayat, was also taken into custody for questioning.
