KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have identified a teen who died following a Friday night crash in Kershaw County.

Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 10 p.m. on Pine Tree Lane near Payne Pond Road north of Camden.

Bennett said a 2011 Hyundai sedan was heading west on Payne Pond Road when it ran off the right side of the road near Pine Tree Lane and hit a tree. Officials said the driver was the only person in the car and died at the scene.

Kershaw County Coroner David West identified the victim as 19-year-old Kade M. Hinson of the Kershaw area.

The crash remains under investigation.
