STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — A driver was taken to the hospital with 'serious injuries,' and a passenger was also hurt, after a vehicle crashed into a house in DeKalb County Friday night, according to police.

DeKalb Police said officers responded to a report of a vehicle colliding with a residence on Parkwood Trace in Stone Mountain at around 9:27 p.m. on Dec. 12.

According to police, a preliminary investigation determined the vehicle was on Cavan Drive, which is a dead-end road, when the driver went through a woodline, down a deep slope, crashing into the backyard of a house on Parkwood Trace.

Police said the driver sustained serious injuries, and the passenger was also hurt in the incident. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
